Mewmi is local-first: your pet companion, conversation history, and personalization are primarily stored on your device and processed locally by an on-device AI model. You can use the app without creating an account.
This Privacy Policy explains how Mewmi ("we" or "the app") handles information when you use the app and its home screen widget features.
Mewmi is a private, local AI pet companion app. You can adopt and care for a virtual pet on your device, chat and interact with it through an AI model running on your device, and view your pet's status on a home screen widget.
Mewmi stores app data locally on your device, which may include:
Mewmi's conversations and interactions are processed by a local AI model (llama.cpp) running on your device. The content of your conversations with your pet is processed and generated on your device and is not uploaded to our servers or dependent on a cloud account system.
Conversation history is stored locally on your device to restore your interaction context with your pet when you open the app.
To power the iOS home screen widget and Live Activity, Mewmi stores selected widget data in the iOS App Group container shared between the main app and the widget extension, which may include:
This storage is designed to remain on your device only, so the widget can display your pet's status independently without opening the main app.
We do not require account registration, and we do not run our own analytics, advertising, or social tracking systems for your conversations, pet interactions, or widget usage.
We do not actively collect your contacts, precise location, microphone input, or camera recordings for Mewmi's core experience. Conversation content does not leave your device.
If you enable reminders, Mewmi requests local notification permission from iOS and schedules reminders on your device. Reminder settings and related state are stored locally.
These reminders are triggered locally on your device and do not rely on an account system or server push service operated by us.
If you view, purchase, or restore a Mewmi Plus subscription, the app uses Apple's in-app purchase system and RevenueCat to show available plans, process the transaction, verify the subscription, and restore access. Apple handles payment details; we do not receive your payment card number.
RevenueCat may receive an app-specific anonymous customer identifier, product and transaction identifiers, purchase dates, subscription and entitlement status, and technical information needed to provide the purchase service. This information is used to manage Mewmi Plus access and is retained under Apple and RevenueCat's applicable policies. Subscription status may also be cached on your device.
Your pet conversations, local AI prompts, and personalized pet content are not sent to RevenueCat as part of the purchase or entitlement process. You can review Apple's Privacy Policy and RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Your local Mewmi data (including conversation history) remains on your device until you manually delete it, reset it, or uninstall the app. Uninstalling the app clears the local data on your device.
Mewmi is not designed around user accounts or the direct submission of personal information to us. If you believe a child has directly submitted personal information to us, please contact us to review it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date and post the new version here.
